The training of working dogs is a complicated process, where good genes and instinct are a definite bonus. However, some dogs don’t live up to their heritage or don’t respond well to traditional training methods.
Many dog handlers have found a remote dog training collar an ideal aid to help turn a wayward dog into a useful working dog, as well as reducing training time with talented dogs. The modern day collars are vastly different from the original 'shock collars' and have safety features to prevent over correction, plus a range of correction levels to enable the lowest level possible can be selected to suit the dog’s temperament. All trainers also feature a 'vibration' or a 'tone' warning which can eventually replace the correction. When working with several dogs in the field or mustering, 'vibration' is useful in alerting the desired dog without affecting all of the others as with a tone.
Dog fencing problems can be quickly solved with a Radio Fence System which consists of a boundary wire attached to a small transmitter which triggers a correction on the dog training collar should he try to leave his area.
For problem barking, 'anti barking' or 'no bark' collars have a sensor which detects the vibration of the vocal chords and triggers a harmless correction automatically to interrupt the bark cycle to stop your dog barking. |
